My sister-in-law Elisaid
has agreed to write this for me, since I still read and write only Farsi and Arabic: I have a great deal of trouble
with the Latin alphabet. My name
is Sirinn bin ta Bealidh. I was born in the mid 12th century by the Christian calendar in Baghdad to a respectable silk
and cotton merchant. At the age of
15, I travelled towards Cairo with my father and brother to marry one of my father's business associates. In our
turbulent times, however, the
plans of men often do not come to fruition. During the attack of Bilbays, I was summarily married (to my later
amazement) to Liam mac Domhnall, and
was warmly accepted by his sister Elisaid. Since his untimely death from a fever (a common enough occurrence among Scots
newly arrived in Palestine), I
have lived and travelled with my sister-in-law. (Click here for
a more complete tale of our adventures.) In the interests of propriety, I remain veiled in the presence of
men. If any females would like to
see more of me, please click here
