************* GREEK MONDOLI *************

Mandoli is played on the modern standard 14 cup board with 2 rows of six cups surrounded by a larger cup at each end (acting as storage bins). An equal number of seeds (4, 5, or 6) are placed in each of the 12 sewing cups. Players choose a sides (row of 6 sewing cups) and alternate turns scooping up the contents of any one of their six cups and distributing the pieces one per cup in a counter-course direction around the board. Pieces are not sown into either storage bin. A player may take the contents of the final cup sown provided the new total is an even number of pieces. The game ends when a player has no seeds to sew or by agreement. Turns must be taken. Pieces lifted must be played. And a player may not sew the contents of a cup that would leave the opponent with no seeds on their side unless no other option exists.
